About us

Mission of the Center: 

The Novel Drug Delivery Systems Research Center, established within the Faculty of Pharmacy at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, aims to create an interdisciplinary research environment in the field of advanced drug delivery systems, provide technical expertise in the fabrication and analysis of nanomedicines, and offer specialized services for the development and localization of pharmaceutical-medical products in the realm of nanotechnology. The center was officially founded and received its primary license from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education in late 2011.

 

Vision of the Center: 

This center is committed to rank within the first quartile of research centers at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences and achieve a position among the top three non-independent budget pharmaceutical research centers nationwide by the end of its five-year strategic period (2029) via establishing a suitable platform with a forward-looking perspective through conducting fundamental and applied research in various domains of novel drug delivery. To this end, efforts will be directed toward leveraging existing and potential resources to create an optimal research environment by reliance on competent human resources, engagement with other scientific institutions, and securing necessary funding. The ultimate goal is for the center to emerge as a leading scientific and research hub in the country, being a pioneer in advancement of public health and knowledge generation through foundational, applied, technological, and clinical research in pharmaceutical sciences and innovative drug delivery.

 

Research Priorities of the Novel Drug Delivery Systems Research Center for the Year 2024:

- Utilizing novel drug delivery systems to enhance the permeation of drugs across the absorption barriers and improve their therapeutic efficacy 

- Development and localization of pharmaceutical nanocrystals on an industrial scale 

- Design, modeling, and fabrication of novel drug delivery systems using appropriate polymers for pharmaceutical product development 

- Application of novel drug delivery systems for the regeneration of damaged tissues 

- Application of cell therapy in designing novel drug delivery systems for tissue engineering 

- Designing novel drug delivery systems for the treatment of cutaneous leishmaniasis 

- Implementation of artificial intelligence in designing drug delivery systems.
